11 new medical colleges to begin journey Jan 10

Eleven new medical colleges are set to begin their academic activities on January 10 next, reports UNB.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the academic activities of the new medical colleges on the day, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said on Sunday.
He came up with the information while presiding over a meeting on enacting separate laws for establishing Chittagong Medical University and Rajshahi Medical University at the Health Ministry conference room.
Of the new medical colleges, six are public and they are situated in Sirajganj, Manikganj, Jamalpur, Patuakhali, Tangail and Rangamati while the rest five are military ones, according to a handout.
At the meeting, the minister asked the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to formulate the laws for establishing the medical universities in Chittagong and Rajshahi for placing those before the cabinet meeting as soon as possible.
