11 Shibir men held in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 11: The police arrested 11 activists of Islami Chhattra Shibir (ICS) following a clash between the members of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Islami Chatra Shibir (ICS), at the government BL College in Daulatpur in the city on Wednesday.
Local people said the clash erupted in the morning when the processionists of BCL and ICS were locked in an altercation on the campus.
Both the groups equipped with lethal weapons, sticks and hammer attacked and chased each other, leaving one injured.
The injured Masudur Rahman Masud is a first year student of mathematics department and also an ICS activist of BL college unit.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur thana Akter Hossain said the police arrested 11 Shibir activists of the college unit from the spot.
He also said additional police were deployed on the campus to avert any untoward incident.
