110 disabled students receive Tk 0.54m stipend

RAJSHAHI, Apr 20 (BSS): A total of 110 students from primary to under-graduation levels with special needs received stipend worth about Tk 0.54 million (5.46 lakh) for continuing their institutional learning in the district.
District Administration and Department of Social Service jointly organised a function at Circuit House conference hall to mark the chaque distribution on Friday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, addressed the event as the chief guest with Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi, in the chair.
Terming the challenged students as an integral part of the society, the chief guest put emphasis on mainstreaming them through creating a disabled-friendly atmosphere everywhere in the society particularly the educational institutions.
