112th birth anniv of poet Jasimuddin January 1

FARIDPUR, Dec 30 (BSS): The 112th birth anniversary of poet Jasimuddin popularly known as pollikabi will be observed here on January 1, 2015 at his village in Gobindapur, on the bank of river Kumar.
Faridpur district administration and Jasim Foundation have jointly chalked out an elaborate programme which includes placing of floral wreaths at the 'mazar' of the late poet, discussion on poet's life and works and doa mahfil.
Besides, many other socio-cultural organizations have also drawn up programmes to remember the poet and his creations. A fortnight long fair styled as "Jasim Polli Mela" will begin here at the same site in mid January in connection with the birth anniversary of the poet.
