1.1kg gold seized at Shahjalal: 1 arrested

Customs intelligence officials arrested one person and recovered 1.1 kg gold worth about Tk 5.5 million from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in the city on Monday. The arrested was identified as Abdur Rahim, hailed from Sonagandhi in Chauddagram in Comilla district. Customs officials informed that Rahim landed at the airport from Dubai by an aircraft of Emirates Airlines around 8:35am. He was challenged while he was trying to cross the Green Channel. The gold was detected after scanning a flask carried by him. Later, the gold was recovered after breaking the flask, according to UNB.
