A dozen students have been detained for allegedly adopting unfair means in the Dhaka University’s ‘Ka’ unit entry test. Friday's admission test under the science faculty was held at different centres across Dhaka city. Acting DU Proctor Amzad Ali claimed the detainees were trying to get answers to questions via SMS during the examinations. Over 80,000 candidates applied online against 1,640 seats under the ‘Ka’ unit. Ali said three each were detained from Curzon Hall and Dhanmondi Ideal College centres, and one each from Eden Women’s College, Azimpur Agrani School and College, Azimpur Girls High School, Motijheel Model School and College, Nilkhet High School, and Notre Dame College centres. On September 5, eight candidates were handed over to police for allegedly cheating in 'Ga' unit entry test, according to a news agency.
