12 \\\'militants\\\' put on three-day remand

A Dhaka court placed on Friday 12 suspected militants on a three-day remand each in a case filed with Darus Salam thana in the city under the Anti-Terrorism Act, report agencies.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Molla Saiful Islam passed the order when Mohammad Jalal Uddin, sub-inspector (SI) of Darus Salam thana and investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 7-day remand.
No bail petition was filed with the court for the 12 suspected militants as there was no lawyer for them.
Mohammad Hasan Faruk, inspector of RAB-4, filed a case with Darus Salam thana  against them under the Anti-Terrorism and the Explosive Substances Acts.
General Recording officer of the CMM court Wahidur Rahman confirmed about the remand.
Earlier Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in simultaneous drives arrested 12 militants, including AQIS resident coordinator and the advisor, and recovered huge amount of explosives and bomb-making materials from different areas of the city early Thursday.
