12 pilgrims killed in road mishap in Egypt

EL-ARISH, May 12: Police say a bus carrying Egyptian pilgrims to Mecca and a van collided head-on, killing 12 people and injuring three others. A police officer said the accident occurred Thursday on a single-lane road in Egypt's Sinai peninsula. The pilgrims were en route to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is Islam's holiest city. -AP
