12 'rajakars' sued in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Jan 26 (UNB): Twelve suspected 'rajakars' (collaborators) were sued Monday for looting and arson attack at Shamantahar village in Khetlal Upazila during the War of Liberation in 1971.
Mr Akhtar Fakir, son of Dr Jaherul Haque of Shakharunja village in the upazila, filed the case with local Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court.
Magistrate Kumar Shipon Modak took the case into cognisance and ordered the officer-in-charge of Khetlal police station to record it as a First Information Report (FIR) and take legal steps in this connection.
The accused are Abdur Rahim Master, Shukur Shakhidar, Abu Syed Mondal, Abdul Majid Mondal, Shamsuddin Mondal, Fosir Mondal, Osman Mondal, Jaber Sardar, Hashem Mia, Sheta Mohsin, Osim Sardar and Robia Prodhan of the same upazila.
