1.21m tonnes of fertiliser distributed this season
Tuesday, 24 March 2009
The government has so far supplied 1.210 million tonnes of fertiliser to the farmers during this IRRI-Boro season against the total demand for 1.238 million tonnes. From January to March, which is the 'peak time' for IRRI-Boro cultivation, dealers have received the maximum bulk of fertiliser against the total demand. Officials said the total stock of fertiliser would surpass the total demand, if the domestic production and the import in the pipeline until June are calculated. — BSS
