13 fishermen injured in Noakhali by rivals

NOAKHALI, Sept 30 (UNB): At least 13 fishermen sustained severe burn injuries when their rivals sprayed hot water on them while fishing in Meghna river in Haitya upazila Saturday.
Police said, there was a longstanding rivalry between two groups of fishermen-one led by Nurul Amin Member and another led by Jamal Sareng and Mohiuddin-over catching fish in the river.
On the fateful day in the afternoon a quarrel ensued between them when the fishing nets of Nurul Amin suddenly got tangled with that of Jamal and Mohiuddin's in the river.
At one stage, fishermen of Jamal and Mohiuddin sprayed hot water through a pipe on their rivals leaving 13 of them injured. Eight of the injured were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex with severe burn injuries.
A case was filed.
