13-kg mortar shell found in Ctg

A mortar shell has been recovered in Heyako area under Fatikchhari Upazila in Chittagong district. The 13-kilogram shell was discovered by the locals who were digging in a grave in a bid to burry a dead on Monday. Shafiul Alam, a resident of Heyako, said locals found it when they were digging the grave in a burial ground adjacent to Heyako Eidgah in the morning and informed police. The law enforcers rushed to the spot and recovered the mortar shell. In-charge of police investigation center inspector Mir Kasem Ali said the mortar shell weighing about 13kg might be live still and it was taken away to Fatikchhari Police Station, according to UNB.
