13 named for Ekushey Padak

Twelve eminent personalities and an organisation have been named for this year's Ekushey Padak in recognition of their contribution to different fields, reports UNB.
The recipients are MA Wadud (posthumous) for language movement, Prof Ajit Kumar Guha (posthumous) for language movement, Principal M Kamruzzaman (posthumous) for language movement, Tofazzal Hossain for language movement, Enamul Hoque Mostafa Shahid for his role in Liberation War.
They are joined by Nurjahan Murshid (posthumous) in social service, Samson H Chowdhury (posthumous) in social service, Rafique Azad in language and literature, Asad Chowdhury in language and literature, Kaderi Kibria in arts, Jamaluddin Hossain in arts, Charon Kobi Bijoy Sarkar (posthumous) in arts and Udichi Shilpi Goshthi in arts.
Each recipient will get Tk 0.1 million, a gold medal weighing 35 grams and a citation.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over Ekushey padaks to the recipients at the Osmani Memorial Hall on February 20, a day ahead of the International Mother Language Day.
