13 political parties provide EC with updates

Only 13 registered parties, including Awami League, BNP and Jatiya Party-Ershad, provided the Election Commission with their updated information this year. The EC had set December 30, 2014, as timeline for political parties to provide it with updates. The deadline expired on Tuesday. The EC had sent letters to 40 registered parties on Dec 7 seeking updated information regarding names of the party’s president and general secretary, party’s address, phone no and email-address. According to officials concerned of the EC Secretariat, a total of 13 political parties submitted the information within the deadline. The 13 parties include Awami League, BNP, JP (Ershad), Jatiya Party-JP (Monzu), Krishak Sramik Janata League, Gano Forum, Ganofront, Khelafat Majlish, Bangladesh Muslim League, Bangladesh Sanskritik Muktijot, Bangladesh NAP, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) and Ganotontri Party, according to a news agency.
