13 RCC mayoral candidates lose security money

RAJSHAHI, August 5 (BSS): Thirteen out of total 15 mayoral candidates have lost their security money in Monday's Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) poll that was held peacefully and without any sort of controversy.
According to unofficial results, Awami League led 14-party alliance backed candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton (Lock) has been elected RCC Mayor bagging 98,360 votes. He defeated Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul (Tiger) who got 74,550 votes.
The candidates who lost their security money are: RCC Mayor-in-charge Rejaun Nabi Dudu, Siddiqur Rahman, Masudul Haque Dulu, Durul Huda, Advocate Enamul Haque, Advocate Raihanur Rahman, Akteruzzaman Bablu, Abdul Matin Khan, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Ruhul Quddus Tunu, Abul Kalam Azad, Abdul Khaleque and Forman Ali.
None of them could score one-eighth of the total votes cast counted as 211,231.
