13 shops gutted in Pirojpur

At least 13 shops were gutted in a fire which erupted at Jhoutala Bazar at Pirojpur Sadar Upazilaon Friday morning. Fire service and civil defence sources said the fire originated from an auto-rickshaw battery charger at a shop of the Bazar around 3:00am and soon engulfed the other adjoining shops. Being informed, two firefighting unit rushed to the spot from Pirojpur fire station and extinguished the blaze after 1 hour of hectic efforts, according to private TV channels.
