130 cops off to Mali to join UN peacekeeping

A 139-member contingent of Bangladesh Police left Dhaka for Mali on Tuesday night to join the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission there. The team, led by Superintendent of Police Md Habibur Rahman, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by an UN chartered flight for Bamako, the capital city of Mali. It will be the first fully-fledged Formed Police Unit (FPU) of Bangladesh Police deploying in the West African country Mali, sources at the Police Headquarters said, according to a news agency.
