134 police officers promoted

A day after a wholesale promotion in the civil administration, the government on Tuesday promoted 134 police officers, including 21 Superintendents of Police (SPs). Sources at the Police Headquarters said 113 Senior Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) have been elevated to the rank of SP while 21 SPs to the rank of Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). The Home Ministry issued two separate notifications in this regard Tuesday. — UNB
