14 shops gutted in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, Mar 21 (BSS): At least 14 shops were gutted in a devastating fire in Nozumia Lane area under Kotwali Thana in the port city.
Police and fire brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit from a shop at around 6.30am and quickly engulfed the nearby shops.
On information, seven fire fighting units from Chandhonpura station rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of local people at about 11:00am.
