14 students fall unconscious in Jhalakati

JHALAKATI, July 29 (UNB): At least 14 students of a secondary school in Sadar Upazila fell unconscious Sunday morning, triggering panic in the area.
School sources said the students - 13 female and one male - of Boidyapur Secondary School fainted with convulsion one after another from 8 am to 10 am in their classrooms.
The students were admitted to Sadar hospital where doctors could not immediately diagnose what caused them to become unconscious.
Another report from Moulvibazar adds: Four schoolgirls of a high school in the district town fell unconscious during school hours Thursday and Saturday.
School sources said class IX students Lovely Akhter and Wali Rani Das of Hafiza Khatun Girls’ School fainted with convulsion almost simultaneously in their classroom at around 12:30pm Saturday.
School authorities admitted them to Sadar hospital.
On Thursday two girl students of VI of the same school also fell unconscious in their classrooms with the same syndrome.
