140 cops join UN peacekeeping mission

A 140-member contingent of Bangladesh Police left Dhaka for South Sudan early Sunday to join the United Nations peacekeeping mission. The team, led by Superintendent of Police Md Humayun Kabir, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by an UN chartered flight. Senior police officials were present at the airport to see them off. The contingent will replace existing BANFPU in South Sudan, according to a news agency.
