140 policemen off to join UN peacekeeping mission

A total of 140 members of Bangladesh Police left Dhaka for Darfur of Sudan early Saturday to join the United Nations peacekeeping mission there. Sources at the Police Headquarters said the Bangladesh Police contingent left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by an UN chartered flight. Superintendent of Police AKM Awlad Hossain is leading the police contingent. Senior police officers saw off the police contingent at the airport, according to a news agency.
