1.40m meters nets seized in Chandpur

The coast Guard personnel in a drive seized 1.40 million meters ban current nets from a passenger launch in Meghna river on Thursday. The drive was conducted following a secret information in the passenger launch" MV Farhan-2 and seized the nets in an abandoned condition, Coast Guard Station commander Lieutenant Mohammad Nuruzzaman Sheikh said. All staff members of the launch fled away sensing the presence of the Coast Guard personnel, the sources added. Later, the seized nets were burnt in presence of concerned officials, according to a news agency.
