14kg gold haul: Case filed against 2 Biman employees

A case was filed on Thursday against two employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd in connection with the seizure of 14kg gold from a flight of the national flag carrier, reports UNB.
Authorities of customs at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport filed the case against M Emranul Islam and M Osman Gani with Airport Police Station, said Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Moinul Khan.
Earlier on Wednesday, customs officials recovered 120 gold bars weighing about 14kg from a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane.
Tipped-off, a special team of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate conducted a search inside flight No BG 046 after it landed at the airport at about 12:30pm from Dubai via Chittagong.
At one stage of the search, they recovered 120 gold bars from the cargo hole of the aircraft.
