MADRID, July 12 (AFP): Just under 14 million people in Spain watched their team win the World Cup for the first time on television with a 1-0 extra-time win over Holland, ratings firm Barlovento Comunicacion said Monday.
Free-to-air Telecinco, part of the network owned by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, attracted 12.9 million viewers for a 77.2 percent audience share while pay channels Canal+ and Canal+ Liga garnered 507,000 and 457,000 fans respectively.
