15 hurt in Sunamganj clash

At least 15 people were injured in a clash between two feuding groups at Chilaura Bazar in Jagannathpur upazila in Sunamganj on Sunday night. Locals said there had been longstanding a dispute between Lulu Miah of Chilaura Samdhal village and Angur Mia of Ashighar village over establishing supremacy. The clash ensued when supporters Lilu Mia and his brother Ludu Mia tried to beat up Angur around 6:30pm as a sequel to the past enmity. At one stage, both the groups equipped with homemade arms attacked one another, leaving 15 people from both sides injured. Critically injured four people –- Selim, Muhik, Angur and Ziaul –- were admitted to Jagannathpur Upazila Health Complex. The rest were given first aid. Officer-in-charge of Jagannathpur Police Station Asaduzzaman said on information, police visited the spot, according to UNB.
