15 injured in Faridpur clash

Fifteen people were injured and 12 houses vandalised in a clash between two rival groups at Bhawal village at Saltha upazila in Faridpur district on Sunday evening. Locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between Moka Haji group and Wahab Matubbar group over establishing dominion in the area. The clash ensued following an altercation between Majed Matubbar of Moka Haji group and Ohed Matubbar of Wahab Matubbar group in the evening. At one stage, both the groups equipped with homemade arms attacked each other, leaving 15 people from both sides injured. They also vandalised at least 12 houses with sticks. Later police quelled the unrest. Of the 15, six people were injured critically. They were rushed admitted to Faridpur Sadar Hospital and Nagarkanda Hospital, according to a news agency.
