1.5 kg gold seized at Shahjalal

Customs Intelligence officials seized 1.5 kilograms (kg) of gold and detained a man at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Dhaka on Friday. The detainee was identified as Mahibul Khan, 39, son of Nurul Haq Khan of Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj district. DG of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Moinul Khan said Mahibul arrived in the city from Singapore by a flight of Malaysian Airlines around 12pm. Tipped off, customs officials challenged Mahibul while crossing the green channel and seized the gold worth Tk 7.5 million from his possession, according to UNB.
