The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday registered 15 more deaths due to the mosquito-borne dengue fever, including six from Dhaka.
With the new deaths, the total number of casualties reached 767, including 537 from Dhaka.
As many as 2,944 new cases of hospitalisation were also reported across the country during the 24-hour period till 8:00 am Wednesday, including 823 from Dhaka, according to the DGHS daily update.
Dengue matched with the rainy season from May to September and high temperature in Bangladesh, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The worsening dengue situation with the growing deaths and cases showed no sign of improvement.
Furthermore, the health authorities also continued to report a growing number of new cases of hospitalisation outside Dhaka. Of the new cases, 2,121 were reported outside Dhaka.
The total dengue cases rose to 157,172. Of the total cases, 69,760 were from Dhaka, added the DGHS.
A total of 9,988 people were being treated in hospitals across the country. Of them, 4,137 were from Dhaka.

Of the total admitted, 146,417 patients made recovery and returned home with a 93 per cent recovery rate, including 65,086 from Dhaka.
Last year, 281 people died of dengue, the second highest in the country's history.
