15 rescued in Benapole while being trafficked to India

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel rescued 15 people, including women and children, while they were being trafficked to India through Putkhali border at Benapole in Jessore on Friday. Officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station Apurba Hasan said acting on a tip-off that some Bangladeshis were being sent to India through the border area, a team of BGB conducted a drive at Balu Math border point and rescued the gullible people. The rescued people, who hail from different areas of Bagerhat, Narail and Gopalganj districts, include 10 men, four women and one child. BGB handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed, according to UNB.
