15 Shibir men held with 17 crude bombs in C\\\'nawabganj

Police arrested 15 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra Shibir from a house at Khaserhat in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Thursday while they were holding a clandestine meeting. The law enforcers also recovered 17 crude bombs, 250 grams of gunpowder and some books of their organisation from their possession. Al-Amin, finance secretary of the district unit of Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, was also among the arrestees. Chowdhury Jubayer Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while a group of Shibir men, including the15, were holding a secret meeting at the house of one Alfaj Mastar of the area in the afternoon. Other associates managed to flee the scene. The arrestees were wanted in a case with the police station, added the OC, according to a news agency.
