15 Shibir men injured in BCL attack at Jessore MM College

JESSORE, Jan 06: At least 15 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir were injured in an attack allegedly carried out by the activists of Awami League backed Chhatra League on Wednesday morning. Of the injured 4 were admitted to Jessore General Hospital.
Mahbubur Rahman, president, Jessore town unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir alleged that a number of BCL men ransacked the campus-based tent and injured at least 15 leaders and activists of the student organisation in the morning. The BCL men attacked the Shibir men without any provocation. 'The BCL wanted to destroy Chhatra Shibir', he added.
Of the injured Shafiqul Islam, town unit secretary, Iqbal Hossain, student movement affairs secretary and activists of Chhatra Shibir Abu Ishaq and Taufiq were admitted to Jessore General Hospital. BCL activist Shahin was injured in the attack, sources claimed.
The college unit of BCL brought out a procession in the town accusing Chhatra Shibir for the incident.
Police was deployed on the campus as tension prevailed there.
