15 wounded in rivals' attack in Shariatpur

SHARIATPUR, Oct 10 (UNB): At least 15 people, who were returning to their houses after visiting the puja mondop, were injured in an attack by rivals at Chadsar village in Sadar Upazila Thursday night.
Local people said there was a longstanding rivalry between Selim Sarder and Razzak Sarder over establishing supremacy in the village. They said Razzak's men ambushed them on their way back home from a local puja mondop at dead of night.
Five of the injured, Selim Sarder (40), Rabin Sarder (23), Monir Sarder (23), Abul Sarder (30) and Kashem Box Sarder (25) were admitted to Sadar hospital in critical condition.
