150 pilgrims killed in Mina during Hajj: Saudi TV

At least 150 people, mostly Hajj pilgrims, have been killed and scores injured in a crash of people at Mina outside the Saudi Holy city of Mecca on Thursday, Saudi TV says. The TV, in a breaking news, also said on Thursday afternoon that the death toll in the tragic incident during the annual Hajj pilgrimage could rise as many injured were rescued in critical condition. The injured were rushed to different hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the country's civil defence said on its Twitter account that death toll reached 150 in Mecca crash. Saudi Arabia's al-Ekhbariya television reported cited civil defence officials as saying that over 400 people were injured in the incident. Over two million Muslims from around 150 countries in the world are performing the Holy Hajj this year, which includes more than 100,000 from Bangladesh, according to Reuters.
