More than 100 Bangladesh nationals who were rescued by Myanmar Navy last month from a boat near Myanmar’s coast while being trafficked to Malaysia have returned home. Myanmar Border Guard Police handed 150 identified Bangladesh citizens over to Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) officials after a flag meeting at Bangladesh’s Ghumdhum and Myanmar’s Dhekibania border on Monday. The first group, consisting of 30 people, crossed the Bangladesh Myanmar Friendship Bridge at Ghumdhum to enter the country at 1:53pm. BGB officials say others will soon follow, according to BSS.
