1,529 buses in BRTC fleet

Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said the state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) is giving service to passengers across the country with a large fleet of buses. There are a total of 1,529 buses in the BRTC fleet, of which 479 buses are inoperative, he said while replying to a question from Treasury bench member Nizam Uddin Hazari in the House. Abaidul Quader said, out of the 479 inoperative buses, 69 are being repaired in the country's Integrated Central Workshops (ICWS). The buses of the corporation would be repaired within January 2015, while more buses would be repaired in phases, the minister added, according to BSS.
