16 Bangladeshi illegal workers arrested in UK

In the last 5 weeks, 16 illegal workers from Bangladesh have been arrested in several enforcement operations in businesses across the UK, reports UNB.
They had committed immigration offences including entering the UK illegally, overstaying and working in breach of student visa conditions, said a British High Commission release Sunday.
The UK Border Agency is now working to remove them from the UK as soon as possible.
The illegal workers were arrested in enforcement operations in Oldham, Essex, Devon and Norfolk. The men were working illegally in restaurants and a meat wholesale shop.
These businesses now face fines of up to £10,000 for each illegal worker, unless they could prove that they carried out the correct pre-employment checks.
