16 JU students suspended over ragging allegations

Jahangirnagar University (JU) has temporarily suspended 16 students from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology following allegations of ragging first-year students.
An office order issued by the JU Registrar's Office on Monday stated that the students were suspended under Section 4(1)(b) of the university's Disciplinary Ordinance for Students, 2018.
The alleged incident occurred on October 12 at Hall No. 21 (male). Acting on the complaint, the university administration, under the directive of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Kamrul Ahsan, took immediate disciplinary action.
