16 killed in Jessore, B\\\'baria road crashes

At least 16 people were killed in two separate accidents Tuesday in Jessore and Brahmanbaria, according to reports by our correspondent and agencies.
Our correspondent from Jessore reports:  Ten passengers of a night coach were killed and at least 40 others were wounded in a road accident in the middle of Gadkhali and Beneali under Jhikargachha upazila Tuesday morning.
The accident took place on Jessore-Benapole Road while a Benapole-bound night coach crashed with a roadside tree after the driver lost his control over the steering killing 6 people including a woman on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Ranjan Pal, son of Dilip Pal of Nawabganj in Dhaka, Jamaluddin, son of Bazlur Rahman of Demra, Bidyut Ghosh, son of Basudeb Ghosh of Demra in Dhaka, Momin Uddin, son of Anwar Ali of Comilla, Nirmal Chandra Saha and his wife Hena Saha of Kishoreganj, bus helper Abdul Momin of Rajbari district, Salam, Prosenjit and Alorani.
The injured were admitted to Jessore Medical College Hospital and Jhikargachha Upazila Health Complex where Jamaluddin succumbed to his injuries.
Three of the injured died at Jessore Medical College Hospital around 10:00am, raising the death toll to 10, said Reshma Sharmin.
In Brahmanbaria, six people including two women and two children have been killed in a truck-auto-rickshaw collision.
