16 more children die of measles, symptoms

The health authorities reported 16 more deaths of children with measles and measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours until 8:00am on Sunday, raising the total number of confirmed and suspected fatalities to 528 since mid-March.
Of the total deaths, 224 were reported in Dhaka, according to the latest bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS also recorded 1,434 new suspected and confirmed infections during the period, taking the total number of suspected infections to 63,813 and confirmed cases to 8,622 nationwide.
Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross on Sunday donated emergency medical equipment to the health ministry to support the country's ongoing response to the outbreak.
According to the ministry, the assistance package included 14 oxygen concentrators, 570 airway management devices, 12 bag-valve-mask resuscitators and manual suction devices aimed at strengthening emergency preparedness and helping healthcare institutions manage respiratory complications and emergency patients.
