16 \\\'people smugglers\\\' arrested in Dhaka

Law enforcers have arrested 16 suspected members of a gang of people smugglers from Dhaka's Malibagh area. They raided ‘Golam Rabbi International Agency and Travels’ at Chowdhurypara in Malibagh and picked up 16 people detained 16 human traffickers around 5:30pm on Tuesday, RAB spokesman Maksudul Alam said. He said the organisation had been sending people overseas illegally after its licence expired on December 31 last year. Referring to expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministry officials, Alam said the organisation's licence was not renewed on the allegation that it had been sending people abroad illegally. Over 200 passports, a computer and several other documents for migration were seized in the office, the RAB official added, according to bdnews24.com.
