16 shops gutted

At least 16 shops were gutted in a fierce fire which broke out at Chatkhil Bazar in Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali early Saturday .Fire service and local sources said the fire originated from electric short circuit at a shop of the market at about 3am and soon engulfed the adjoining 15 shops. The affected shop owners claimed that cash and other valuables worth about Tk 10 million were gutted in the blaze. - UNB
