16th amendment bill placed in JS

The Constitution (Sixteenth Amendment) Bill, 2014, seeking to empower Parliament to remove Supreme Court (SC) judges, was placed in the House Sunday, report agencies.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque introduced the bill in the parliament. In the bill, for article 96, the following article 96 shall be substituted in the constitution.
According to the section 1 of the proposed article 96, subject to the provisions of this article, a Judge shall hold office until he attains the age of sixty-seven years.
The section 2 says a Judge shall not be removed from his office except by an order of the President passed pursuant to a resolution of the Parliament supported by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the total number of Members of Parliament, on the ground of proved misbehaviour or incapacity.
According to section 3, parliament shall by law regulate the procedure in relation to a resolution under clause (2) and for investigation and proof of the misbehaviour or incapacity of a Judge.
The section 4 says a Judge may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the President.
