16th death anniv of journalist Obaidul Huq today

Today (Friday) is the 16th death anniversary of eminent journalist Obaidul Huq, says a statement.
Obaidul Huq breathed his last on October 13, 2007 at his Banani residence at the age of 96. He was the editor of the Bangladesh Observer for 12 years since 1972.
He did his master's in philosophy from Dhaka University and completed his LLB from Calcutta University.
He was the first Bengali Muslim to make a feature film, named "Dukkhhe Jader Jibon Gora" in1946. He was the writer, producer and director of the film.
His columns became very popular like his editorials written as editor of the Bangladesh Observer.
