17 hurt in clash over land in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Mar 1 (UNB): At least 17 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over possession of a piece of land at Grampangashi village in Raiganj Friday.
Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Raiganj Police Station, said Rahij Uddin of Grampangashi village and Akter Hossain of Rameshwargati village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land at Grampangashi.
As a sequel to the dispute, supporters of both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other at Grampangashi village, leaving 17 injured.
