17 kg gold recovered in city

A man was arrested along with 17 kilograms of gold in the city on Monday. The arrestee was identified as Jahidul Islam Jahid, 35. Police said he hails from Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah district. Being suspicious about Jahid’s movement, police challenged him near a police check-post at Gabtoli under Darussalam Police Station around 8:15am. Police forced him to stop near the check-post. The law enforcers searched his bag and recovered gold bars weighing 17 kg from him. Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Darussalam Police Station, confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
