17 single-use plastic items categorised hazardous

The government has categorised 17 hazardous 'single-use-plastics' to phase those out from the environment.
According to a recent circular, issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the products include cigarette filter, fast food wrap, plastic bottle and its cap, etc.
The ministry included the products under its 'Solid waste management rules, 2021'.
The products include straw, stirrer, one-time utensils, cutlery (e.g. cups, plates, trays, spoon, fork), plastic sticks (e.g. balloon sticks, ice-cream/ lollipop sticks, plastic banner less than 100 microns, plastic covers on any poster, sachets, pouches, lollipop covers, chocolate covers, Styrofoam food packaging e.g biryani packet etc, thin plastic films on fast food packaging plastic invitation card, thermal lamination on invitation card or advertising products, thin plastic cover of cigarette pack/tissue paper, toilet roll, soap, shopping bag, carry bag manufacturers from polyethylene or polypropylene or mix, melamine foam sponges-used for household cleaning, single use plastic Packaging of any products, cigarette filter, plastic bottles, caps.
