1,743 bottles of Phensidyl seized in Rajshahi

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in a drive seized 1,743 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Padma River near Alaipur BGB camp in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi on Friday. Hasan Ali, assistant director of Mirganj camp of BGB-37 said, tipped off that a gang of smugglers were carrying a consignment of Phensidyl to the country from India through the Padma River a team of BGB took their position near the bank of the river in the wee hours of Friday. Sensing the presence of the border guards, the smugglers fled the scene leaving behind the Phensidyl consignment. Later the BGB men seized 1,743 bottles of Phensidyl from the spot. None was arrested in this connection, according to a news agency.
