Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) has reinstated 18 of the officers of Rab-3 after they were ‘withdrawn’ from their posts following allegations that they embezzled seized money. The force has confirmed reinstatement of the members, including the battalion’s Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 Commander Major Ali Ahsan. They were taken off duty over allegation of money embezzlement, said a report published on Monday on ‘DMP News’, operated by Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Rab, however, said the officials were attached to Rab headquarters in the city’s Uttara, not withdrawn from duty. After Rab reacted sharply to the report, it was removed from the DMP News website on Tuesday, according to bdnews24.com.
