18 rescued while being trafficked to India

Police in a drive rescued 18 people, including five minor children and seven women, from a truck on Bagerhat-Pirojpur highway near Doratana bridge of the district town on Friday morning while they were being trafficked to India.
Police also arrested a human trafficker in this connection, a news agency report said.
The arrestee was identified as Abbas Hawlader, 38, resident of Chaltebuniya village of Morelganj upazila.
Additional police super Mohammad Hayatul Islam Khan of Bagerhat police said on secret information, police conducted a drive in the area and rescued 18 people from a truck.
The rescued people hail from different areas of Morelganj upazila.
